Youth Action Fund

This fund is managed by the South Downs National Park Trust on behalf of South Downs National Park Authority.

Are you ready to make a difference in the South Downs National Park? The Youth Action Fund offers grants ranging from £500 to £2,000 for inspiring projects that empower 11–25 year olds to take action for this incredible landscape!

Grants are made possible with generous donations from the Spencer Wills Trust and American Express Foundation.

Your project could involve practical nature conservation work, creative activities, or skills development and work-related learning, all focused on the national park’s special qualities.

Previous initiatives have seen youth groups litter-picking by bike, getting stuck into thrilling outdoor adventures, and producing captivating videos to encourage others to experience the beauty of the South Downs.

Turn ideas into reality—applications are open until 10 May 2026, with successful projects awarded funding by mid-June. Don’t miss the opportunity!

Before you jump in, be sure to check out the Guidance Notes. To apply, you’ll need to be an organised group with a constitution or governing rules, and your organisation should have robust policies to ensure the safety of everyone involved. Activities will take place in, or within 10km of, the South Downs National Park and themed around this landscape specifically.

To get started, complete the application form and send us a project proposal in your own style.  We especially welcome projects developed collaboratively with young people.
