Leaving presentation for Dean Orgill

Last month we bade a fond farewell to Dean Orgill, former Chair of Trustees of South Downs Trust after more than seven years in the role.

We wish Dean all the best for his new role as Chair of The Living Coast UNESCO Biosphere in Sussex, and we’re happy to know he will still be making an impact in the South Downs.

On 17 February 2026, as a demonstration of gratitude for his service, James Winkworth, Head of Charity at South Downs Trust presented Dean with a beautiful hand made gift to remind him of his time with us.

The contour box gift is a hand made piece of the South Downs, centred around the stunning Seven Sisters cliff line. Expertly crafted by Tom Aylwin in his West Sussex workshop, each contour box is uniquely shaped according to the location selected. Real landscape elevation data turns each piece into a tactile sculpted object.
