Janet was born in Petworth and is married to local farmer Chris Duncton, they farm within the National Park at Osiers which borders the Ebernoe Common Nature Reserve.
A West Sussex County Councillor since 2013 where she is Chief Advisor to the Cabinet Member for Highways and Transport, Chief Advisort to the Cabinet Member for Resident’s Services with special responsibility for West Sussex Fire and Rescue and is Vice Chairman of the Rural Services Network (RSN) for the South East of England. Janet has also been a Chichester District Councillor since 1973 and has held positions of Leader and Cabinet Member for both Housing and Planning.
Janet was a founder member of the Sussex Downs Conservation Board, she is a supporter of agriculture, the countryside and local community. Janet has always lived in the countryside and enjoys walking, cycling, gardening and travel.
