We are looking for local businesses, particularly those in tourism, to join our visitor giving scheme.
Visitor giving is a simple way of inviting voluntary donations from visitors, inspiring them to put something back into looking after the places they love to visit. Tourism businesses of all types are perfectly placed to collect any contributions which their customers feel moved to give.

Our ambition is to raise £2 from each visitor to the South Downs National Park. This will go towards vital projects which will improve visitors’ experiences for years to come.
Visitor giving isn’t a one-size-fits-all scheme. It’s creative, flexible and we will be happy to discuss the best way you can incorporate into your business.

Since the Visitor Giving program launched in 2019, businesses across Hampshire and Sussex have generated over £70,000 for Nature Recovery in the South Downs National Park. Fundraising has poured into inspiring projects such as tree planting, creating wildflower meadows, new hedgerows, renovating paths and helping children access the great outdoors.

Chris Hannon, Business Development Lead for the National Park, said:

“We’re incredibly grateful to the businesses that support the South Downs Trust’s Visitor Giving scheme. By inviting customers and clients to give a little back while enjoying the South Downs, they are helping to create a powerful connection between people, place and nature. Every contribution makes a difference – just £2.50 can create a square metre of wildflower habitat and £5 can help plant a new tree.
“Together, these small acts of generosity add up to a lasting impact, helping us restore nature and protect this special landscape for future generations.”
